Her eyes sharper than the sharpest object

like shattered blue glass

speechlessly asking

why this facade?

you believe and bow in front of the unknown and unseen

yet, my existence in flesh and blood seems too unpleasant.

This poem is inspired by a recent post by Punam, https://paeansunpluggedblog.wordpress.com/2019/10/18/disappointment/.

Every day girls and women in various different places are chastised for their gender. We are blessed with a life where our existence is celebrated and so I feel it’s our duty to speak up on behalf of and in unison with those who aren’t so fortunate.
