Normalcy as we knew it, seems left behind
With trepidation and tribulations on our minds
Yet, look around is everything foregone?
What about some of the things which we can count on?
Home cooked healthy meals seem like a fad again
Mindless outings to satiate the insatiable, no longer sound sane
Needs and wants have been differentiated
Unstructured time with family has gone back on the list
Normalcy as we knew it, surely feels lost
But this sudden break is asking –
Were we truly living or merely existing in knots?

Love this, Pallavi. Every verse is packed with food for thought. Especially loved the line: “Needs and wants have been differentiated”

Very true Pallavi. We definitely need to ask ourselves this.

Absolutely..the irony of it all is soon (weeks, months, years) after we are back to the normal that was, we will once again embrace the craziness and get in the way of living life, all the while, complaining about the stresses.

Wow!! Very profound thoughts, dear, I’ve been thinking about the same things for the past few days. The way this pandemic has shifted our live’s gears onto the track which humanity had very conveniently forgotten about.
Lovely piece. XOXO

We’ve only now learnt to prioritize what’s important and what’s not so important.
Of course our perspectives will change again, once this cloud has drifted away.
Till then, let’s cherish some people and memories – current and past.
