She’s a reflection of me
wrapped in her own identity
In her I see light and tide
With a promise to be a tsunami
The strength in her heart and soul
frequently leaves me dumbfounded
is she a reflection of me?
or a version I intended to be?

Written for Eugi’s Weekly Prompt for my daughter.
Pallavi, very astute and interesting observation. This could be looking in the mirror or crystal clear lake or it could be a mother looking at her daughter or a sister at her twin. Keith

Thank you so much! It is a mother looking at her daughter and admiring her grit. I only wish, she never forgets it. 🙂

Pallavi, I love the use of the term and admiration of “her grit.” To me, it does not take a tough persona to have grit. In fact, the movie “True Grit” was more about the grit of the young girl than the part played by John Wayne. You should take pride as you already know. Keith

This is sweet. I see in my adult children aspects of me but better, much better.

Over from Eugi’s. I like it! The ending surprised me, but that is what makes your poem so realistic. Well done.

Thank you so much for reading. The ending was actually what I started with and worked backwards 🙂

I see a lot of you in Myra
Her gaiety, her self love
Her strong sibling love
Her deep support for her dad but at the same time her strong love & bond for you.
Above all her graceful gait.
Physcially she is her dad’s daughter
But her personality is you.
She grow up into a beautiful indiviual with a heart of gold & mind of grit.😍😍😍😍😍
Happy reminicing!!!!!
