It’s eerily quiet, deafening the soul of the city.
City, which once was buzzing with people and their paraphernalia.
Paraphernalia, which transported to newer and better.
Better, which almost instantaneously turned these streets to obscurity.
Obscurity, which has become the shadows so dark that light itself evades its luminosity.

Pallavi, this is a sad truth. Yet, there are some examples that countervene. It reminds me of a couple of cities doing the opposite, which initially sounds counter intuitive, but helps communities and the environment. The cities made certain streets into pedestrian walkways and plazas, while routing traffic around the area. The better traffic flow saved on exhaust fumes and increased miles per gallon and the pedestrian walkways caused shops and cafes to flock in. People thought the planners were nuts at first, but it did the opposite of the obscurity. Keith

Sadly, this is true for many old cities. Thanks for joining in with this lovely poem.
