Every Mother needs some TLC
Whether it’s a mother who has it all down, knows her lane and can be picked out in crowds
Whether it’s a mother who just had a baby, is picking up bottles because breastfeeding hasn’t been easy
Whether it’s a mother who is running behind a toddler, troublesome twos and tortuous threes are testing her valor
Whether it’s a mother who’s presenting on a Zoom call, trying to prove her metal after stuffing lunch boxes in her kids’ bags
Whether it’s a mother who’s bidding goodbye to her child, sending her off to college while she hides her tears on the ride
Whether it’s a mother who knows it all
Or the one who stretched on the floor and bawled
Whether it’s me or you or someone else
We all need TLC
We all need to be hugged and held
Truer words have never been spoken, Pallavi!

Teaching moms in my Family Literacy class has given me a greater appreciation for the lives of moms. I can’t hug them, but I can share laughter with them, and when needed be an understanding listener.
