I wish to raise best friends

Those who will see each other through thick and thin

Those who won’t shy behind “what should be” and “how it should be”

But just be themselves in each other’s company

Those who will laugh at their parents’ expense

Bond over the same blood flowing in their veins

Can Talk about their dysfunctional family for hours

And will be on each other’s speed dials

The ones that will go through life together

And will be each other’s unabashed critics and loudest cheerleaders

With whom conversations about crushes and heart breaks will come easy

And so will, in abundance, leg pulling and teasing

Who may too fight and disagree and be disgruntled

But for whom life without each another will be untenable

Those that will truly understand each other

because they were together during the making years of one other
